The Borough of Staten Island

Anti-Tourism NYC summary of Staten Island:

Okay, so where do we begin with Staten Island? Well for one: yes it is apart of New York City as much as you don't want to believe it! Two: Staten Island is the most neglected borough of all the other ones. And three: the only reason you probably heard about Staten Island was because the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan made it famous (calling it "Shaolin'".)

To clarify, Staten Island is the only borough that is totally isolated from the rest of NYC. The only way to get in through NYC is through the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge (which has a toll to enter in and out!), or to take the Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan. Because of all of this, it's arguably the least visited borough, where only people who live in Staten Island would make the trip there. We highly doubt you'll find a tourist in Staten Island.

Overall, it's the least populated borough (not surprisingly) but is the third largest overall compared to other borough's size. The island is nothing but a huge suburb, where buses are you best bet for traveling through the borough because there's one main train (the MTA Staten Island Railway) that exists there. Does this take away from the island not being interesting? Hell's no; Staten Island has a lot to offer which no other borough can offer because of how suburban it is. If you have the time to travel there, you'll be surprised at what you can find in this lonesome island.
